OUR ANIMALS HAVE VOICES

I Am a Penguin!

Waddle, waddle! I am actually an African Penguin, a little bird who cannot fly but swims like a champion. My name is Pendo and I live where the sun shines bright, on the sandy beaches and rocky islands of South Africa. My black-and-white suit is not just stylish – it’s my secret armor! From above, my dark back disappears into the deep blue, and from below, my white belly blends with the sunlight on the water. This keeps me safe from predators like sharks and seals.

I may be small, but I am fast! My flippers are strong, propelling me through the waves like a torpedo. I dive deep to chase my favorite meal – sardines and anchovies! Yum! I love my colony, where thousands of us chatter, waddle, and nest together. I find my mate and stick with them for life, taking turns keeping our eggs warm. We may look clumsy on land, but in the water, we are graceful dancers.

The ocean is my playground, and I share it with many friends. The dolphins leap through the waves beside me, while sea turtles glide through the water, munching on jellyfish. Beneath us, tiny plankton sparkle in the currents, feeding schools of fish that swirl like silver clouds. Bright corals grow in the shallows, providing a home for creatures big and small. Maybe one day you will see it for yourself.

But my world is changing. The fish are disappearing, the oceans are warming, and oil spills make my feathers heavy. Some humans help rescue us, but we need safe oceans to thrive. Will you help? Keep my waters clean, and let me swim wild and free! Will you keep the Ocean clean?

I Am a Dolphin!

Swoosh! I am a Maui’s Dolphin, the Ocean’s acrobat! My name is Rongomai but my friends call me Aio and I am one of the rarest dolphins in the world. I live in the shallow waters of New Zealand, where the waves dance and the sun sparkles on the sea. My sleek silver-gray body glistens as I leap high, spinning in the air before splashing back into the water.

I am always chatting with my family – clicks, whistles, and squeaks are our special language. We play together, chase fish, and race through the waves. My dorsal fin is small and round, different from other dolphins, but perfect for gliding through the coastal currents. Life in the ocean is a game, a song, a dance!

I have so many wonderful friends! The orcas, my big cousins, sing across the water, calling to each other as they hunt. The sea lions bask on the rocks, diving in to join us when we play. Beneath us, the coral reefs shimmer with colour, where tiny clownfish dart between the anemones and sea stars rest on the sandy ocean floor. Even the little plankton are important, feeding the fish that keep our ocean thriving!

But something is wrong. Huge fishing nets trap my friends, pollution poisons our water, and noisy boats make it hard to hear each other. My kind is disappearing fast. Will you listen to my call? Protect my home, keep the waters safe, and let me swim, leap, and play forever! Tell people about me so that they know I’m here. Will you help protect the Ocean and keep the Ocean clean?

I Am a Turtle!

Flap, flap! I am a sea turtle, a Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle, a traveler of the seven seas. My name is Aroha-Sage, and I am the rarest sea turtle of all! I am small but mighty, with a round shell and flippered arms that help me glide like a bird through the ocean. You can call me Tao.

I have a favourite beach, every year, I return to the same stretch of warm sand to lay my eggs. When I was a hatchling, I scrambled across the beach, dodging crabs and birds, racing toward the waves. Now, I roam the open ocean, feasting on crabs, jellyfish, and seaweed. Sometimes, I glide through vast schools of fish, my flippers moving in slow, rhythmic motions as we travel together, side by side.

The ocean is full of wonder. Above me, the sun sparkles, and around me, the tiny plankton drift in the currents, feeding fish that dart through the water like little silver arrows. The coral reefs are like underwater jungles, vibrant with colour and life. I often swim past schools of bright parrotfish, their sharp beaks nibbling away at the coral. Even my friends, the seahorses, hide in the tall grasses, waving in the water like tiny leaves in the wind.

But danger is all around. Plastic looks like jellyfish, and it fills my belly with poison. Fishing nets trap me, and beaches where I once nested are disappearing. The ocean is warming, and I’m scared that my home will disappear too. But I won’t give up! I will keep swimming, keep gliding, and if you help protect the oceans, I can return to the beaches where I was born. Together, we can keep this world safe for creatures like me! Will you help clean up our Rivers and Oceans? Will you help protect me, my friends and the Ocean?

I Am a Shark

I am a shark, a Great Hammerhead Shark and the ruler of the deep! My name is Maya, and I have the coolest head in the ocean – it’s shaped like a giant hammer! This makes me a master hunter, with eyes on both sides to spot my favorite meal – stingrays hiding in the sand.

I glide through the water, powerful and silent. My strong tail propels me forward, and my special sensors help me detect the tiniest movements of prey. I am the guardian of the sea, keeping fish populations balanced. Without me, the ocean would fall out of harmony.

The ocean is vast, filled with beauty and life. I have many friends here. Sometimes, I swim alongside sea turtles, my long body moving gracefully while they cruise just below me. Other times, I share the waters with schools of fish, swirling around me in perfect harmony. Beneath me, the colorful coral gardens teem with life. The little fish dart through the corals, always alert, while rays glide past on their smooth wings. The oceans are full of incredible creatures, all working together.

But humans fear me, even though I do not hunt people. Instead, they hunt me. My kind is disappearing because of fin hunting and pollution. The ocean needs sharks! Without us, the sea would change forever. Please, let me swim, let me hunt, let me keep the ocean strong! Will you be friend and a friend to the Ocean?

I Am a Narwhal!

Whistle! I am a Narwhal, the unicorn of the sea! My name is Nuna Nalka, but my friends call me Namaste and I live in the icy waters of the Arctic, where the ocean is dark and the ice stretches for miles. It is very cold. But I am easy to spot – I have a long, spiraling tusk that grows from the middle of my head. It’s like a magical horn, but it’s not just for show. My tusk is full of sensory nerves that help me find food like fish and squid hiding in the deep waters.

I swim in groups with my family, called pods, where we stay close together to keep warm and protect one another. The water is our home, and we move smoothly through the waves, often alongside beluga whales and seals. Sometimes, I see polar bears resting on the ice above us, or walruses lounging on the shore. We share our world with all kinds of funny looking creatures and animals, and together we create a beautiful, peaceful existence.

The ocean is full of life. I swim near schools of fish that twirl in the currents, and the plankton shimmer as they drift through the water. The sea floor is rich with life, from crabs to sea stars, all helping to keep the ocean healthy and balanced. I love the cold, the deep blue, and the fresh air above the ice.

But my world is changing. The ice is melting, and warmer waters are pushing me farther from my home. Fishing nets trap me, and ships make it harder for us to hear each other. Sometimes I’m so confused I need your help to protect the Arctic waters, to keep my home safe and clean. Will you be my friend and protect the magic of the sea?

I Am a Beluga Whale!

Hello, I’m a Beluga Whale, the cheerful singer of the sea! My name is Beluga-Bagaani, it means morning light. I live in the cold waters of the Arctic. My body is sleek and white, like snow, and my head is soft and squishy. I am very clever. My kind is known for our beautiful songs – whistles, chirps, and clicks – we communicate with one another like no other. I have a unique, flexible neck that allows me to turn my head in all directions, which helps me to explore the icy waters around me.

I swim in pods with my family, gliding through the frigid waters, often accompanied by narwhals and other whales. We love to swim through the ice-covered seas, where the water sparkles like diamonds beneath the surface. We eat fish and crustaceans like cod, herring, and shrimp, and sometimes we even dig through the sea floor to find hidden treats!

The ocean here is so full of life. The plankton drift lazily in the water, feeding the tiny fish that swirl around us. Below the ice, I share the sea with seals and walruses, who glide through the water in search of their next meal. We all work together, living peacefully in the cold. Or so we try.

But the ice is melting, and the ocean is warming. The pollution is hurting my friends and me, and ships are becoming louder, disturbing our songs. The Arctic is changing too quickly, and without the ice, I could lose my home. Will you help me? Protect the ice, the sea, and the creatures that call it home – like me, the Beluga!

I Am a Blue Whale!

I am a Blue Whale, the biggest creature to ever swim the seas! My name is Kaimana, and I am massive – so big that my tongue alone can weigh as much as an elephant. I live in the open oceans, where the water is deep and vast. I spend my days gliding through the currents, feeding on tiny creatures called krill that I suck up with my baleen plates. Do you know what that is? Do you have baleen plates?

I may be big, but I am gentle. I swim alone or in small groups, and I communicate with other whales by sending out low-frequency calls that can travel across entire oceans. These songs are full of stories and information – my own way of connecting with the world. The ocean is my home, and it’s full of beauty. I glide past schools of fish, and I see dolphins jumping through the waves. The ocean floor is filled with creatures like giant squid and deep-sea fish, all doing their part to keep the water alive.

But the ocean is hurting. Ships make too much noise, and pollution clouds the water, making it harder for us to hear and see. My kind is endangered because the oceans are warming, and we are losing our homes. I need the ocean to be clean and full of life again. If you care for the sea, help me, and the world will stay wild and free for us all!

I Am a Polar Bear!

I am a Polar Bear, the great wanderer of the Arctic. My name is Auluk-Aadi. My world is made of ice and sea, where the cold wind sings and the Northern Lights dance across the sky. I walk across frozen oceans, my paws spreading wide to carry me over the ice. My fur may look white, but beneath it, my skin is as black as the night, soaking in the warmth of the sun. I am strong, powerful, and built for the wild.

I am a hunter of the sea. I wait patiently at breathing holes in the ice, where seals rise for air. The ocean is my hunting ground, but without ice, I cannot reach my prey. I swim through freezing waters, my powerful limbs carrying me across vast distances, always searching, always moving. My cubs are born in the heart of winter, curled safely in a den of snow, where I shelter them until they are ready to follow me into the frozen world. I teach them how to walk, how to hunt, how to survive.

But my world is melting. The ice that has always been my home is vanishing beneath my paws. Each year, I must swim farther, search longer, and fight harder to find food. The ice is not just frozen water—it is life itself. Without it, I am stranded. Without it, my cubs have no future.

I am a Polar Bear, and I am calling to you. When the ice disappears, it is not only my world that suffers, it is a warning to yours. The balance of the Earth is shifting, and the Arctic is speaking. Will you listen? Will you fight for the ice, for the ocean, for the wildness that makes this world whole?

I am a Polar Bear. The ice is my heart. The ocean is my way. I am calling on your friendship, will you answer? Will you help protect me, my kind and the Ocean?
