We launched in 2024, recognising the growing demand for vegan and plant-based options and the need for a product that is not only delicious but all inclusive and also quick and simple to prepare. Our mission is to make plant-based baking effortless without you feeling like you are compromising on taste or quality.

As a lover of both great food and a more sustainable way of living, Petro Diamant our Founder realised that while there are growing options for plant-based food, the world of vegan desserts was often either complex or lacking variety. “I wanted to change that by creating a line of cake mixes that could be used by both professionals and home bakers, taking the guesswork and effort out of plant-based baking wherever you are.”

Our Story – A Journey of Passion, Purpose & Growth
November 2024 – Where It All Began
An idea sparked — simple yet powerful. A vision to create something beautiful, indulgent, convenient and meaningful. Petro Diamant Vegan Cake Desserts was born from a desire to enjoy vegan desserts when socialising with friends at restaurants and a love for making a difference.
January 2025 – The First Creation
Turning vision into reality, our first collection of vegan cake dessert mixes was developed and launched under the name Petro Diamant Vegan Cake Desserts. Every product was crafted with care, intention, and a commitment to excellence and conservation.
Early 2025 – Sharing Across South Africa
With belief in our products and purpose, we began introducing our desserts to chefs across the country. From Cape Town to Johannesburg, Durban to Port Elizabeth, we built connections, shared hundreds ofsamples, and planted the seeds for something bigger.
February 2025 – Giving Animals a Voice
In February 2025, we proudly introduced our © Our Animals Have Voices Initiative, a heartfelt step toward inspiring compassion in the next generation. Through the creation of unique terrestrial and marine wildlife characters, we began educating children about animals in a way that is engaging, imaginative, and meaningful. By writing short stories and gentle introductions, we opened a world where animals are seen, understood, and valued. As this initiative continues to grow, we are lovingly developing © Our Animals Have Voices Cookbooks for children, blending creativity, education, and purpose to nurture young hearts and minds.
March 2025 – A Heart for Giving
We took our first step toward impact. As our brand grew, so did our commitment to making a difference. In March, we proudly listed three non-profit organisations on our website that we aim to support – embedding purpose into the heart of our business from the very beginning.
Mid 2025 – Building Through Community
Our journey continued through meaningful connections, introducing our products to independent restaurants and sharing them with friends and family. Their support, feedback, and belief helped shape our path forward.
September 2025 – The First Sales
A proud and defining moment, our first sales. This milestone marked the transition from vision to reality, proving that what we created truly resonated with others.
December 2025 – A New Identity, A Stronger Purpose
We evolved into Petro Diamant – For The Love Of Animals, a name that reflects our deeper mission and values. More inclusivity, more community. 95% of people enjoying our cake desserts are non-vegan. We decided rebrand and expand. Alongside this, we made a conscious shift toward sustainability by reducing our plastic usage by 50% – a step toward a more responsible future.
January 2026 – Growing the Collection
Creativity expanded as we introduced four new additions to our cake dessert range, offering more choice, more flavour, and more moments of joy.
March 2026 – Celebrating Women & Creativity
We began featuring recipes created by women using our cake desserts, proudly publishing their creations under their own names on our website. This milestone represents empowerment, recognition, and the beauty of shared creativity.
